Vegetation indices describe relationships between spectral bands. NDVI is commonly used to explore greenness, NDRE provides a red-edge chlorophyll proxy, and NDMI helps inspect relative canopy moisture. A mapped difference can guide attention without establishing its cause.
Interpret an index alongside image date, cloud masking, pixel size and crop context. Bare soil, shadows, management practices and mixed pixels may influence the pattern. Compare appropriate dates rather than assuming that every change represents crop growth or stress.
The current AgroSensing crop tools expose these indicators and temporal changes. They do not provide calibrated yield, nutrient concentrations or validated phenological stages. Those applications need a crop-specific model and independent field measurements for calibration and validation.
